Student Council
Made up of one representative from each class, student governance gives students the chance exercise leadership as they work toward making our school a better place. Major activities include a Crush soda sale that happens annually in February. The council is advised by teachers Jason Pothof and Ann Pitz.
Club Soccer
St. Dennis hosts soccer in the fall and summer for children entering 4K through 8th grade. Summer 2019 program information can be found here. You can also explore club soccer opportunities at Capital East Soccer.
Band
Band is offered through Overture Band Programs, a Wisconsin 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing instrumental music education to private and parochial schools and home-schooled students in and around Dane County Wisconsin through quality band programs. Teachers recruit students in grades 4 – 8 to join band at the beginning of each school year. Parents pay a “band tuition” to Overture to have their student(s) participate in the band program. Teachers provide weekly group band rehearsals and semi-private lessons, teaching students all aspects of playing their musical instrument, preparing them for two concerts per year, as well as providing other musical opportunities including Honor Band, Solo & Ensembles Festival, Summer Band Camp, and Summer Lessons. An informational meeting will be held in the fall. Stay tuned for more information.
Piano Lessons
Deb Scalissi offers piano lessons to St. Dennis students during the school day on select days of the week. To coordinate lessons, contact Deb directly.
Girl Scouts
Girl Scouts is a non-formal, experiential and cooperative educational program that promotes girls’ personal growth and leadership development. Partnering with caring adults, girls design fun and challenging activities that empower them and raise their voices within a local, national and global sisterhood. Girls discover, lead and take action as well as develop the courage, confidence, character and leadership skills to succeed for a lifetime while making the world a better place. Troops are organized by grade level. Contact the troop leader that corresponds with your child’s grade if you’re interested in having her participate.
